Win 8.1 Pro Preview - what next?
Hi
I've been using the Windows 8.1 Pro Preview. According to the license I can test it up to 15 January, 2014. What next? Will there be any next free version for testing? I wouldn't like to buy the Windows 8 now. Regards Antoni |

Regards Antoni You can verify these commands in a Google search. This is from the notes file I keep, random interesting commands. Run these as Administrator. slmgr.vbs -rearm slmgr /rearm SLMGR has many other options. slmgr -dli (this will display the current activation/licensing info) slmgr -upk (this will remove the product key) This one is for WinXP. Not every OS uses SLMGR. rundll32.exe syssetup,SetupOobeBnk ******* The Preview version of Win8.1 is not likely to run forever using rearms. Perhaps an Enterprise evaluation version would be better for such an abuse ? I use rearms, to keep these VMs running, until they eventually expire and I reload them. http://www.modern.ie/en-us/virtualiz...ools#downloads ******* Another tool of the trade, is "install-only" keys. These are license keys you can use, if an installer asks for a key, early in an installation. The keys are not suitable for activation. They only fool the installer into letting you finish the installation. In a real installation attempt, you'd change the license key later, to the real and paid-for version, to finish the activation. http://forums.mydigitallife.info/thr...1-generic-keys There are better documented lists, elsewhere. ******* Many of these tools exist, to make the job of IT professionals easier, when dealing with mass installations and the usage of VLK (volume licensing keys). And as such, there is plenty of information out there, about what you can do with such tools. Have fun, Paul |

Regards Antoni If you are using your computer for fun and you have plenty of time then just keep reformatting the Hd and start again by changing the date backwards. Date is not important to you as I see it. We are using computers for serious work and time is of essence here. I only use trial versions of Adobe and Corel programs. apart from that I don't bother. -- Good Guy Website: http://mytaxsite.co.uk Website: http://html-css.co.uk Email: http://mytaxsite.co.uk/contact-us |
