Tablet not seen in Windows?
Archos 10B G3 tablet with Android 4.03, Win 7 or Win 8 doesn't see it
connected at all. Tried different USB cables and flashing firmware. Looked at USB socket with magnifier, no sign of damage. Both Win 7 & 8 PC's see other tablets and phones using same cables. This isn't mine and the owner doesn't know if it ever connected to PC, they'd never used that function. Thinking maybe non standard USB cable needed but can't find any info on this. Any ideas anyone? Kenny Cargill First, check to see whether Windows responds to the plugged in cable from the device. http://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html Downloads are near the bottom of the page. What you're looking for, is a port to be populated when it is plugged in. Many devices use MTP protocol, which should not be a problem for Win7. On WinXP, you might need a magic minimum version of Windows Media Player to get the MTP driver as a "bonus". The later OSes should have MTP by default. Paul |
