Default Windows size/placement sweraround

For long time now I've run little program called ShellFolderFix which
seemed to cure Windows Explorer's loss of memory concerning how to
display a fold, e.g. List. Medium Icons etc.

From one evening to the next morning (pc's on 24/7) this behavious seems
to have become "corrupted". Now it's back to like quesswork what in how
a folder will be displayed.

Is there at least some way to force Explorer to default to Medium Icons
rather than List view?

This was discussed recently. See "getting folder
settings under control definitely" from 11/8.
