Can't open an email account
Hi to all those who tried to help me with my email problem
As was suggested here, I got a guy with computer expertise to sort out my problem for me. Several people here suggested giving WLM a miss and using something else. It was his preference as well, so Mozilla Thunderbird is what I'm using now. So I'm back in business now. Thank you all for your help GordonW |

Okay, now that you've got your email all working better, now's the time to move your *Usenet* account to Thunderbird as well. WLM doesn't do newsgroups any better than email; it's terrible! |

I've gotten e-mails from Microsoft warning that I must "reconnect" to my Microsoft e-mail accounts due to some change; else, I lose access. That applies only with some clients and looks to be an issue with other than EAS (Exchange ActiveSync) connects (i.e., POP or IMAP). It is unclear what they mean by "reconnect". https://support.office.com/en-us/art...rs=en-US&ad=US WLM is not mentioned because Microsoft abandoned that product years ago. It is a legacy product so no support so don't expect it to get mentioned in their help articles. I don't know what access method you defined for your Microsoft account. Microsoft announced a long time ago that they were discontinuing their proprietary Deltasync support (what WLM supports other than POP, IMAP, and SMTP). Then later they killed the Deltasync servers. They replaced Deltasync with EAS. WLM doesn't support EAS. I don't think Thunderbird does, either, so the issue seems more likely the requirement to "reconnect" your client to your Microsoft account. Moving to a different local e-mail client and defining new accounts in a new profile there probably emulated Microsoft's "reconnect" requirement. |
