Do these 3 WiFi tests of a network location to a drive letter mapping work for you on Android 7.0 Nougat & Windows 10 using only freeware?

You originally thought it to be nothing more than a 'syntax error'; and I'll be happy to provide the MID to your post, if you'd like to see it. Hi Diesel, I think I'm slowly, belatedly, beginning to better understand you now. I somehow doubt that... o I reported honestly that I was hoping I could figure out the syntax o Then I reported honestly that I failed to get "net use" to work with FTP You call that being a "liar". I call it being honest. you were told, multiple times that it wasn't an issue of syntax, you continued to state otherwise. Do you need the MIDs to your posts, Arlen? I realize the way in which you access usenet doesn't afford you the same liberties as I have. I'd be more than happy to help you locate your posts. It's interesting how you see those facts in a completely different way. The original words you wrote, or, the revised edition you provided above? I need to study you more closely to comprehend _why_ you think that way. I'm not a science experiment, Arlen... Uhh, You've added NO value to this thread. You've pimped and prodded for others information concerning what you what to do with your Android device. Hi Diesel, I think I understand where you and I differ, having read what you've written on this topic over the past few days. You believe, apparently, that waving a mythical magical wand claiming all sorts of capabilities is added value, while I believe that actual commands, and their results, with annotated screenshots replete with URLs backing up everything ... is the added value. The difference, between your idea of value, and mine, is stellar: o One is magical hand waving, while o The other is cold hard reproducible facts. Your ability to comprehend and understand things is udder ****e, Arlen... No wonder you see no value in my posts. o All my posts contained actual documented reproducible facts No, they didn't. Do you need some clear examples? o None of your posts contained any actual reproducible facts That's not true either. Do you need some clear examples of those posts as well? They aren't imaginary, Frank's using one himself AND he didn't learn about it from me. Hehhehheh... Hey Diesel ... Hiding your ignorance with laughter, again? Do you want proof that Frank's so-called solution is entirely imaginary? Franks er, ehm, so called solution isn't imaginary, Arlen. I also told you that you were thinking about the problem in the wrong direction, in this case. I told you from the get go, there's several ways I know of for you to do what you're wanting to do...Franks much more clear with that than I was, but, I was intentionally being evasive. [g] In very rare occasions do I find myself actually knowing only ONE way to do something. That just goes against my grain and my understanding of things I.T. Crypto aside, of course. Btw, Arlen. I've been playing with an android device the past few days. I've tried auto-transfer file lite by noople; it's restricted to a single customizable entry. If you want more, you have to pay about 2 dollars. Seems like a fair deal to me. Works as advertised. I set it to the folder where my cell stored screenshots and it put them where I wanted them, behind the scenes. I've also tested bfilesync; it doesn't have the limitation the one mentioned above does, the interface is about the same between the two and so far, I've heard not a squeak about paying for it, trial feature limits (I have 5 folders presently setup on it though; not a pile) or advertising. These aren't redirectors Arlen, they can't reroute where the file is going to be saved, they can only ensure it winds up there, after the fact. They'll both move more than pictures, too. Anything you want, basically. Which goes to prove my previous point, Arlen. I'm not the only one who knows how to do what you'd like to do. I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means, "No" Hi Diesel, Thanks for being wholly consistent in letting me know, again, that you have the answers, but that you won't tell me them, because, I think it was that you said "you wanted to make me beg for them", is that right? No, that's not Right. Do you have an MID where I wrote that Arlen? I suspect you won't find one, because, I didn't write any such thing to or about you. I fully comprehend the problem you're having. The solutions I have aren't imaginary nor are they magical. Hi Diesel, You're consistent, so that's good as you also said, at another point in time, that you always had all the answers, but you won't tell them, because, as I recall, you "wanted to make us work for them", is that right? Uhh, no. Again, No. Oh wait.. heh it's been retained. Below. and I, for reasons you already know, have refused to provide YOU any specific information that will allow you to do what you've spent over a month now trying to figure out. Hi Diesel, I appreciate that you're consistent in that you know all the answers but you won't tell them, because you want me to find them out for myself. ROFL. Sure, okay. Go with that then. I appreciate the care you put into developing my skill set. You're welcome Arlen. You're very very welcome! Glad to help you out! And, I bet, despite Frank forking over general knowledge of one particular, reliable, way of doing it, you still won't be able to get it up and going without further assistance. Hi Diesel, Let's not forget that I think Frank has already begun to prove his so-called claimed solution will turn out to be wholly imaginary. It's not, Arlen. We still have time though on that...as there is an entire thread on that topic alone, where I'm sure the proof will be in the taste of the pudding. In other words, you're going to fish for more information based on what Frank already provided, if (probably doesn't matter) he doesn't come forward with more details concerning it.. Is that right? I'm funny that way, Diesel. Yes, you are. But, not in a good way. Again, it's nice to know that only you know the answer to the question, where, since you're so caring, you wont' tell anyone, unless they beg, and even then, you want to make them work for it. I'm not the only one who knows. I didn't ask you or anyone else to beg, and I've consistently stated I'm only making YOU, specifically you, Arlen, work for it. Since you didn't wanna be an adult about the original problem and 0wn your mistake, yea, you'll work for it, if you want ANY help from me. It's noble of you to be so consistently considerate (teach a man to fish). Hey, thanks. No really. Some people don't see the value in what I've done with some others. Atleast, not at first. I've made some into damn good troubleshooting technicians, though. I guess I'll have to beg or work harder for it, or I won't get them, right? I don't think begging is going to get you anywhere. Nobody wants that from you, afaik. Least of all me. For example, the holy grail would be MTPDrive functionality using freeware. I'm sure there is a way to do that - I just don't know what it is yet. Sigh. I should never have upset you in the first place. Mea culpa. ROFL... You didn't upset me, Arlen. Now I'm rally kicking myself in the pants for having ****ed you off. LOL...Sure you are. Now I know you would never do that, Diesel, in that you'd never claim you had a method that works without that method actually existing like Frank does ... but that Frank. He's different from you. That's why you and I get along so well Diesel, compared to Frank. Huh? I don't know either of you, but, I prefer discussion with Frank over you. -- To prevent yourself from being a victim of cyber stalking, it's highly recommended you visit he https://tekrider.net/pages/david-brooks-stalker.php ================================================== = What's the difference between spit and swallow? I'm sure you do, as Frank has a great understanding of the problem set. If you get a chance, you can ask Frank Slootweg why he's suddenly so quiet when his "solution", which he said we "ignored", hasn't been forthcoming in the thread specifically opened to test out Franks' supposedly wonderful solution. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/comp.mobile.android/QJlPRhqHeNQ You don't think he made it all up, do you? Naah. He wouldn't do that. Again. The great thing about Frank's imaginary solution is that, as long as only Frank knows about it, there are only pro's and no con's. That's the great thing about imaginary solutions. They work so much better than do the real ones. To that end, the real solutions are lousy. They are o MTPDrive works great over USB but we need a freeware replacment o FTP shares mount as drives over WiFi but USB is much faster o WebDAV shares connect as network drives over WiFi but suffer similarly Other than that, these access files but don't run Windows programs: o LibMTP (can read/write the entire Android file system) o Adb (can read/write the entire Android file system) o Proprietary programs (can read/write the entire Android file system) BTW, today I accidentally found out something potentially interesting when I hit a button on Android while reproducing all the previous apps: http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=7991068androidstudio75.jpg o I opened the Windows Android Studio "Device File Explorer": http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=6942292androidstudio76.jpg o Amazingly, this displayed the root file system on Android: http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=1162959androidstudio77.jpg o It "seems" to allow me to "edit" the root files (non rooted): http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=1078724androidstudio78.jpg o Where it sure "looks" like we can edit root files, non root: http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=1402992androidstudio79.jpg o But I'll need to test this further as it's unbelievable: http://www.bild.me/bild.php?file=2729035androidstudio80.jpg Since it's a holy grail to be able to write to the Android root file system from Windows without being root ... I may need to test this further. Certainly this web page "intimates" that we can WRITE a hosts file BACK to Android FROM Windows, without needing to be root on Android: https://www.modmy.com/how-modify-hosts-file-your-android-device The command that web page suggests is... C:\app\editor\android\sdk\platform-tools\adb.exe root push c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts /system/etc/ I could certainly _read_ the entire Android root file system from Windows using adb, but I haven't figured out the trick to write to it yet without being root on Android. I'm sure you & Frank have those answers, but, we have to work for them. |
