Default What is significance of RED square in Start button Icon

What is significance of RED square in Start button icon. Top left
square in icon is RED compared to normally blue color. It is not flashing.

Running Windows 10 Pro V 1903. Is that possible an error indication?

TIA for meaningful answer.

Is just one of the tiles (squares) in the 4-tile Start icon colored red?
Or all 4 tiles red in the Start icon (when you hover the mouse cursor
over it, as it is 4 white tiles when not hovered over)? I don't know
about the former. I believe the latter is the Start icon matching the
accent color that you specified: Settings - Personalization - Colors
- Accent color.

Do you have a 3rd party start menu replacement (e.g Start10 or
ClassicShell) installed?

Of the four tiles of the Start icon - only the upper left one is red in
color.

I am using Start 10 on four separate computers. Only one has the red
upper left corner tile showing red, none of the other three computers.
All the other icon tiles are consistently white.

When you mouse over that specific tile it turns to the accent or
background color (other than red). In a static situation - it is RED.

Andy - your question about Start 10 was the tipoff.... it is related
to Start 10's default or custom settings. Thanks for the tipoff,
reply and help. c!

So, not a Windows issue. You replaced the Start Menu. For issues with
Stardock's software, ask in their forums at:
