Easiest Windows 10 Upgrade (1909) yet!
I have 2 Windows 10 machines (an I7 desktop, and an I7 laptop). After
the normal 2nd Tuesday Cumulative Updates for 1903, I got a message that 1909 was available for installation. I started it on each system and they both finished in less that 5 minutes!!! That must be a new record for Microsoft Feature Updates. New WinVer is 1909 (OS Build 18363.476). |

We have to wait for the **** to hit the fan KenW https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...date-kb4524570 KenW I to was surprised at the speed the updates (1903 and 1909) installed. The only hang up was on the notification page. After 1909 was installed there was still an notification to restart the computer. After doing it once at the end of the update and then again when I found he update notification, I ignored it and it finally went away. I was really "impressed" with the new things in 1909. ;-) |

There may have been new items under the hood |

New WinVer is 1909 (OS Build 18363.476). https://www.zdnet.com/article/micros...ndows-10-1909/ This feature update is unlike previous Windows 10 feature updates, in that Microsoft intentionally decided to limit the number of new features in the release and focus on making changes to the way it services, or updates, this particular release. Though 1909 will look and feel more like a traditional service pack or cumulative update to many users than it will a full feature update, technically it still is a feature update. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...date-kb4524570 Windows 10, version 1909 This security update includes quality improvements. Key changes include: - This build includes all the improvements from Windows 10, version 1903. - No additional issues were documented for this release. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win...p-at-home-1909 https://pureinfotech.com/windows-10-...date-features/ Video timemark 0:23 Reflects that this is really just a service pack. Seems less about core changes and more about fluff improvements. I'll wait a couple months to see how many of the guinea pigs get sick or die and the flurry of subsequent updates to fix this one. |

You can click that item, to kick it off, and it doesn't take that long. I don't usually look down there, but because 1909 was mentioned, I scrolled down to see what other crap might be hiding down there :-) Paul |
