Default Compressed Folder

Yes, I think I was mistaken on that folder I said had shrunk from 1142K to
377K. It was composed of a lot of images as well as text files. On closer
inspection, it was not the same as the one I was trying to shrink the other
day.

So what do you guys think of (or know about) "Ultimate Zip?"

Yes, I appreciate that some files/folders may not compress too much.

But
two
weeks ago I compressed a1142-Kb folder to 377 Kb; NOW when I send

this

1125

using

Linda,

This wouldn't appear to be a problem with XP, if StuffIt is giving

you
the
same indications, since it uses a different compression engine.

Note:
some
types of compressed files (video, pics and the like) won't

compress

Doug, the problem is not with OPENING zip files--the problem is

not
being
able to actually COMPRESS files. For example, on March 17th I
compressed
a1142 Kb folder to 377 Kb; today I send this same 1142 folder to

the
Compressed Folder and the resulting zipped folder is 1125 Kb.

I've
even
restored Stuffit and tried compressing with it, and the same

thing
happens--the compressed folder is only a TINY bit smaller than

the
original

So my compression feature is not working right; I can extract

things
fine,
but I can only compress them by a couple of kilobytes.

I

go

select

But
if
I use this feature, a "zipped" folder appears containing
