Default COM1 DEVICE DRIVER PROBLEM

Hi Brad,

Common issue if you have Quicken installed. Workaround:
Go to Edit/Options/Internet Options. Hit Shift-4. Answer Yes.

Whenever my new COMPAQ computer (with Windows XP Home
Edition) starts up or tries to "hybernate" I get a SYSTEM
STANDBY FAILED error that then says:

The device driver for the "Communications Port (COM 1)"
device is preventing the machine from entering standby.
Please close all applications and try again. If the
problem persists, you may need to update this driver.

Does anyone have an idea how to "update this driver" or
how to fix this problem another way? Thanks for any help.
