Yes, Office 2003 applications will continue to work. After 10 yrs of
experience using the software the need for support is probably not
necessary (especially since Mainstream Support ended over 3 years
ago)....though the above point was the fact that since Extended Support
ends in April 2014 - program and security updates will no longer be
available.



Question is if you install it will it activate? Will XP activate? I mean
they both *are* genuine.


In April...most likely. In the future, possibly not and more likely if
installing XP RTM/Sp1/Sp2.
- for those with XP and Office pre 2007 it would be wise to have a
full image with the o/s and programs as insurance. Once a program ends
product lifecycle the need to permit it connecting to the servers for
anything (validation, genuine-ness, activation) diminishes every day
post EOL....all it takes is a few bits flipped on the backend.
