I was talking about "Flight Mode". I don't have "Airplane Mode" on my
Windows 8.1 Toshiba laptop.

You are very likely right. That hadn't occurred to me.

Microsoft has again confused a lot of people with their nomenclature.
There is no reason why the US and UK versions should be different for
this.

There is no such word as 'airplane' in UK English - it's
'aeroplane'. However, that's no reason for ms to change
it to 'flight' - that (clearly) is only causing confusion!
After all, they never changed 'color' to 'colour' in any version
of Windows.
Still, I expect everything will eventually be in Chinese, so
there'll be no confusion after that! ;-)
