Geeks only. http://static.fsf.org/fsforg/graphic...phic_final.png The left hand column is more likely to be true for WinRT, rather than the x86 version of the OS. Win8 has the ability to blacklist the execution of a program. If you attempt to run Windows Virtual PC from your Windows 7 computer, that will be denied at runtime. It's blacklisted, with Hyper-V (requiring SLAT) being the recommended substitute. The "you have no privacy" again, probably applies to a mobile device which is location aware. I have virtually all the "switches" in my Windows 8 install turned off, and that includes location awareness. Since my desktop doesn't have GPS, I don't have the hardware for it either. So I'd say the left hand side, is true of most mobile platforms available today. A mess. And something I want no part of, no matter who makes it. You should do a careful analysis of what Ubuntu is up to, their Amazon tie-in and some of their other tricks, before deciding any arbitrary distro is "ready for Sainthood". Such is not the case. Evil can happen in Linux as well. It's up to users to avoid such distros, when they see stuff like that happen. http://www.howtogeek.com/126995/how-...us-unity-dash/ "Canonical forwards these search terms to third parties, such as Amazon, on your behalf." There is no shortage of evil. Evil is everywhere. Paul |
