Default Win 7 networking error 64 fix?

Just went thru a little session where two on my pcs experienced network
issues. All could browse the internet and see each other with direct
links or using ip address.

The XP pc could not browse "Workgroup" yet the direct link to various
shares still worked.

A Win 7 pc would only show a partial listing in Workgroup and not
display the list after "cmd /k net view" in a command window with
elevated priviledge (setup link works usually) instead displaying an
Error 64 message.

I rebooted the XP pc with no changes.

I rebooted the Win 7 pc with no changes.

I rebooted the router with no changes.

I rebooted a second Win 7 pc that was acting as the "Broswe Master". It
rebooted but a third Win 7 pc became the new browse master.

All back to normal.

Anyone, any thoughts as to what may have happened as this is not the
first time. It appears reboot the browse master solves the problem but I
need another "go around with the issue" to try it first next time.
