A Trojan horse is the best way.

1) You distribute your email address freely.
2) I craft an "invoice email" with a special attachment.
3) If you're a noob, you double click my attachment.
It has an FTP program that transfers your C: files
to my hard drive here. Even attaching a copy of
Back Orifice to the email, would get me what I want.

It's a silly example, but the more likely scenario.
Basically, I rely on your lack of "Safe Hex", to help
me get what I need. You accept my Trojan Horse, and
now I'm inside your perimeter.

Trying to "crawl into your machine directly", is a less
likely scenario. However, if you own a router with a
known compromise, maybe you show up as an attack
target when someone does a Shodan scan. Maybe you're
unlucky that way. For example, some routers have a
password on the WAN side, which a lot of people
don't even know it's there. I remember one poster,
his router was running "demo firmware" from the
chipset maker (not even basic security fixes done),
and it was as porous as a sieve. You could get into
one of those, easy. This would be a tiny brand without
a track record. Probably a few bucks cheaper at the
local computer store. Once inside the router though,
I don't know what my next move would be. I'm not
very good at this stuff.

You should use a more secure password and don't put it in a file.

First the intelligence of the person trying that stupid thing; Second,
you may not be worth spending time on. People will only do something if
there is some money to be made. All the evidence suggests that you are
jobless, high on drugs and habitual shop-lifter. Who in their right
mind would waste time on you!!!!!!.

More than half of the United States is a "stupid Trumper" who voted for
the man who led the country to its best economic performance in decades
as well as the best unemployment numbers for blacks, latinos and in
general.

The fact that you consider these people to be _stupid_ considering those
facts says a lot about your own intelligence.

Not a Trumper, but no way I could vote for the unindited criminal known as
the "Hildabeast".

Weatherman, welcome to the plonk bin with all the other members there. I'm
sure you'll find a lot of friends there.

Last I heard, Trump lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes.
That doesn't sound like more than half.

Stupid is not the (primary) word I'd use.

Trump had less dead people, Mexican citizens voting for him.

And how many of them were illegal voters, something that Democrats made
sure would be able to vote during the midterms as well?

Whether you like it or not, the Electoral College was designed to ensure
that the entire country got a say over who the president was. There's a
reason why IT was chosen over the popular vote because the founding
fathers knew that it would otherwise result in places like New York and
California, their cities being heavily populated and highly liberal,
deciding the fate of the country regardless of what the smaller areas
wanted. In Canada too, seats decide who leads the country and not the
popular vote because pure Democracy is extremely flawed and very much
prone to abuse as the Democrats keep showing us with their continued
attempts to steal elections, many of which they _certainly_ stole in the
midterms.

Besides, the United States is a _republic_ so the very fact that you
brought up "the popular vote" suggests that you have no idea how your
country works and that you bought into the leftist excuse your media
system has been pushing from day one as to why "The Chosen One" Hillary
didn't win.

Actually it's the opposite. The Electoral College
has us voting for special electors who theoretically
vote in accord with our votes, but they're not
bound to do so. It was established so that hayseeds
wouldn't be allowed to vote in an idiot who charmed
them. Since ignorant rural people couldn't realistically
make an informed vote, there was a safeguard to
allow the intelligentsia to override them.
How ironic that it helped Trump get elected.

(And no, I'm not a Hillary fan. But replacing a plutocrat
insider with a psychopath is not a solution. It's a frivolous
reaction.)

There was no belief that true democracy was feasible
with an uneducated public. In fact, I once read a
quote from Jefferson that the whole idea of the American
gov't they were designing assumed a religious, moral
populace. He didn't think it could work otherwise.
