stop streaming video and stream only audio
Even though my internet connection is slow by most standards, streaming
usually works fine. But sometimes it doesn't. Is it possible to stop streaming video and do only the audio? With some, any, or all websites. The audio is often the important part, and I never have trouble streaming audio. |

Many videos are on web pages with "wrappers" around them. Does a wrapper allow hacking or adulterating ? Now, if you use Youtube-DL, it allows listing the formats available (even on non-Youtube pages, it can do that!). And sometimes there are options for downloading audio-only files or video-only files or combinations thereof. https://ytdl-org.github.io/youtube-dl/index.html I think that's about as close as I could get. Example of half a session here. Just checking to see what formats are available. The first four "formats" are audio-only, and smaller than the 2.5GB 8K video one :-) https://i.postimg.cc/vHvXBRLJ/youtube-dl.gif ******* Setting the desktop resolution lower, might encourage a more economical video format, but I suppose that's mostly wishful thinking on my part.
