Default Tip: cost home versus pro

Hi All,

The home edition drives me nuts. Someone, and I
don't remember the conversation, told me pro is not
worth the extra $100 (don't remember the exact number
he used).

It is only $15 dollar. Here is the image from Lenovo's
web site.

Please upgrade as a kindness to your computer consultant!

Home and Pro are in fact identical software.
Only the Pro key enables the existing extra functions.

Very true.

Same from M$ Office. The ISO (img) contains
all the options. The key unlocks what you get.

You read it wrong. Home is $15 less than Pro (it doesn't show to price
for Pro). Most computers come with Home and Pro from MS is a $99
upgrade. I always get Pro except with this HP Mini, I am going to
stick with Home.

Hi Ken,

That is because I clicked the pro button.

If you click the home button it shows $15 more for
the Pro.

If you click the Pro button, it shows $15 less for
the home edition

Here is with the home button pressed:

And it is only $15! Yes, I can blank your password(s)
and enable your administrators account with
a blank password) from Fedora. But is a lot
cheaper just to pay the $15!

You get RDP access with Pro too. Mini RDP server
are awesome. I configure them all the time. Last
month, I installed one on a customer's machine
to help troubleshoot is Go To My PC was causing
his issues (it wasn't, it was a poor Internet).
When he got to see how the two worked, he dumped
Go To My PC like a hot potato!

And you get missing jump on Windows Explorer's
(not Internet Explorer) toolbars.
