Latest MS Update

Win 10 Home 64bit which was at version 1903. Just keeps coming up and up. Same number "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909" It already installed itself twice before I set it to Pause. I did check for more updates and the Malicious (second attempt shows as FAILED) and Feature update came up again, even after rebooting and it installed again. Buffalo PS: Anyone else have this happen to them? I already had version 1903 installed. Find the item on catalog.update.microsoft.com, download as a .msu, double-click to install, done. Many times, the installer from WU seems to have some sort of problem that isn't there with the .msu version. There's no need to delete SoftwareDistribution contents, unless you're in a bad mood and need to lash out at something. Paul |

Paul Paul, It shows as updated successfully both times and it will probably do it again if I let it. "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1909 (2)" "Successfully installed on ‎11/‎12/‎2019" If it succeeded twice, it was probably a version1 and version2 of the same KB number. It should not happen a third time (at least, immediately). When they do them in pairs like that, the Version2 is shorter, almost like it's a service stack or an update confirming the first one actually finished OK. If later bugs show up in a KB, the "same update" can happen a third or a fourth time, as there have been KBs where it took a number of tries to get it right, at the MSFT end. I suspect after the pair, you're done for now. It shouldn't come back. If it does come back, try the ..msu from the Catalog server. Paul |

I did stop it for it's 3rd try and now , when I checked just again, it said I was up to date. Very strange, but done. Thanks again. Buffalo -- Buffalo |

Buffalo Read an article recently that these updates to 1909 on 1903 systems contain all the new components for 1909 but at this time are not activated. So it looks like you are ready to go when the final (small) update arrives that activates the new features (or bugs - your choice). -- Bob S. |
