Default USB problems with XP Professional

Hi Kevin,

It seems that the USB controller problem. If it's the VIA chipset, we need
to apply the VIA USB patch from the VIA web site.

Please also apply the latest USB controller update if it's the SIS or ALI
chipset.

Thanks for using Microsoft News Group!

Sincerely,

Steven Liu

| I just upgraded my machine from XP Home to XP
| Professional. I did applay the latest service pack at
| the same time.
|
| I have two USB devices, a Epson C80 printer and a Kodak
| memory card reader.
|
| These two devices now are not available after booting up
| the system. If I shut off the printer and turn it back
| on (waiting for the window's audio cues) It works fine.
|
| Similarly, if I unplug the reader and plug it back in,
| Windows then recognizes it.
|
| How can I get this resolved?
|
