Default I can't stay connected (2nd post)

Yes I do in a way. I am on a cable model attached to a
Linksys 4 port router. Also running Zone Alarm Pro. This
must be unique to XP, because it has never happen on my
other os's in the past.

I don't know if this is an (xp home) or (IE) problem,

but
I can't seem to stay connected to the internet through

my
cable modem. All programs that connect to internet say

I
have no connection present. It takes 2 tries before
connecting and stays for as long as I need. But after
closing program and coming back later it seems to have
automatically disconnected. Never have experienced

this
in the past with 98 or ME. I have checked the box

(auto
detect settings under my lan settings tab, but with no
change. It seems to be acting like some kind of auto-
disconnect is running but can't seem to find it to

turn
off. under my lan settings tab, but with no
change. The only odd program I have installed is .Net
Framework. Some program I am using requested .net to

be
installed. I have no idea what this (.net framework)

does.
Have searched the knowledge bases extensively with no
success.

I haven't. Does either of you have a firewall?
