Default Networking XP Professional

After a lot of messing around I have now got my workstation
(On a small network)to let me access the linux server
files which I need. This is great but my workstation keeps
asking me for the password. I know the password and it
lets me in but WIN98 or XP Std don't prompt me for a
password everytime i want to log on to the server. How can
I setup Win XP Professional so that it asks me for my
network password on the welcome page(boot)????
PLEASE HELP IT'S DRIVING ME
