Default Mouse freezes after reboot

Hi XPerts,

My problem is that after a restart of my computer (like when you just
installed some new application), the mouse freezes after the restart, in
the 'welcome screen'.

the only thing that helps is another restart (I am lucky to have such a
button on my pc).

O yes, my mouse is a logitech wireless mouse.

Thanks and Best Regards,
Carlo

ps I posted this question a couple of days ago, probably in the middle
of the night. I received no answer. Maybe nobody knows an answer. :-(
I still hope that it has been overlooked ;-)

Default Mouse freezes after reboot

I had the same problem with the Logitech Cordless Elite Duo
Keyboard/Mouse. Anytime I installed something that required a reboot
or had to reboot due to some sort of system error, it would
freeze...yet the wireless keyboard functioned fine. Logitech support
was no help. They said to try the PS/2 instead of USB for the mouse
which I was already doing. There next response was it's probably
defective. I doubt it.

Anyway, I haven't really solved it, but I run the iTouch (wireless
keyboard)software without the Mouseware and the problem is gone. The
mouse works fine without the software anyway. The only drawback is I
can't program the thumb button (I dont' use it anyway) and I won't get
a low battery warning, which is no big deal. It's obvious when it
needs replacing and I always have plenty on hand.

I'd much rather truly fix the problem, but for now this is a much more
acceptable solution than manual reboots (sometimes several) just to
get the mouse working again.
