Disable some event logs
There're a lot of "Info" event logs like:
"The XXX service was successfully sent a start control." Event ID is 7035 or "The XXX service entered the running state." Event ID is 7036 The Soucre of all events is SCM. Can I disable these events? |

You will also see some warnings and errors (hopefully not many) which contain information that can be useful if you are troubleshooting a problem. It's a good idea to browse through this tool once in a while and become somewhat familiar with what is "normal" for your setup. Services : Most of these are necessary and support basic fundamental operations of the operating system. A few will have been added by software or hardware you've installed. Tread lightly before disabling any services. If you use Start Run MSCONFIG, the service tab will display a list of services. Check the box to hide the Microsoft services and the remaining items are the ones that were added. They're not a part of Windows but whether or not they are necessary needs to be judged on a one-by-one basis. -- Sharon F Microsoft MVP, Windows - Shell/User |
