CD drive won't refresh
My Asus CD/DVD combo drive will not update the volume OR THE content
informaiton when I swap disks. I noticed this some months ago. I reformatted my hard drive (for other reasons) and found that both of my CD/DVD combo drives will not reflect the new disk (i.e. installing my programs, WIN XP SP2 displays the volume name of the FIRST disk. The volume name (preceding the drive letter) never changes when I insert other program disks.) In addition, the displayed content from the FIRST disk remains. The only way to clear the content is to eject the disk, F5, re-insert the disk. The new CONTENT will display, but the VOLUME name never changes until I log out of Windows. This is particularly troublesome when playing DVDs. Is a registry setting off? If so, anyone know what setting I need to check? |
