Default System Restore - How to save a restore point for a long time (XP H

This is XP SP3 Home Ed. I'd like a way to save one particular restore point
for a long time so it doesn't get written over by newer restore points.
There isn't enough disk space to allocate more to SR. p.s. Installing
new/3rd party software or services is not an option.

My friend left his pc with me while overseas for a year or so. I've had to
disable services and apps that keep trying to access online services not
available from here, etc, and afraid I'll lose track of all the changes.

I'd like him to be able to run System Restore to bring it back to just
before he left, rather than me trying to keep track of everything. But that
restore point will get written over shortly if I don't do something to save
it.

Is there a way to save it, in a way that System Restore will be able to
restore to in a year from now?

You misunderstand what a restore point is.

A restore point is not a backup. It is a copy of a small set of system
and user files. You use a restore point to return to a known good system
state as soon as you realize that something has gone wrong during a
software update or install. You do not want want to restore an old
restore point - then your computer would have a mix of old and new
files, which can lead to serious trouble.

In any case, restore points can't be saved separately.

What you need to do is learn how to backup.
