"After posting a question to a professional forum or newsgroup"

That already assumes way too much as many of those posting here looking
for some sort of answer don't actually ask an effin' question!

Also there needs to be a definitions section. I really want to see an
exact definition of "RTFM" on MS's website! ;-)

Otherwise pretty cool! Here is a shorter link to the KB article:

It's not good enough. What is needed is the moron interface needs to structure the question.

Something like this

General Description of Problem
e.g. Messenger doesn't start

List Steps to Duplicate Problem
e.g. Click Start, click All Programs, Click Windows Messenger

What actually Happened
e.g. Nothing, Messenger didn't appear to start

What Did You Expect To Happen
e.g. That messenger open with a window to type in

Did Windows Come Preinstalled? If so what Brand and Model is the computer?
e.g. Yes, Dell XYZ

Obviously different templetes suit different problems. There could be a menu for Blue Screen templates, usage templates, program error templates, etc.

Wouldn't work. It assumes everyone would be asking a question regarding
a problem rather than an inquiry, rant, or info message. Also, everyone
would get tired of wading through the fixed templates and eventually
just pick "Other" and use the free-form template to enter their
question.

They would take the high ground and say it meant "Read The Fine Manual".

I don't know about that. Most morons will obey a computer. Otherwise =
spammers would be out of business.

I wouldn't call that the "high ground," as I value accuracy over
censorship. But I'm surprised that "RTFM" made it in to a KB article to
begin with.

That's funny; what a collection of pots trying to call
the kettles black. Whenever a moron has nothing to
say, he also uses a lot of words to prove it.

That sounds like a good idea, but it doesn't work in the Windows Media
Player newsgroup. The kiddies there just copy the instructions without
actually filling in the blanks.

LOL! That's funny! You sound like a moron that has installed a lot of
spyware on his computer, and is upset at rightfully being called a
moron.
