Default onedrive

I have the onedrive app installed and am experimenting with it and also
searching around for answers. Thought I would ask here in the mean time.

I don't want anything to sync automatically.

I want to be able to sync from the onedrive to a computer. I want to be
able to sync from a computer to the onedrive.

I would like to choose what I want to sync at the time of syncing as
opposed to having defaults files/folders.

Don't see a need to purchase any extra space yet.

You are dealing with Dale, PhD so he knows that OneDrive storage is
password protected. Why did you make such stupid comments? Have you
forgotten your meds today?

Don't wish to sync OneDrive(OD)
- rt click the icon in tray area, Settings/Settings tab uncheck the
option 'Start OneDrive automatically when signed into Windows'
- rt click the icon in tray area Settings/Account tab/Choose folders and
and uncheck 'Sync all files and folder in OneDrive'
*Optionally - one can 'Unlink this PC' to completely stop sync, though any
files previously sync'ed will remain on the device*

To sync from OD to the device on which OD is installed or from the device to OD
- you'll need to be signed on to OD, and enable any folders you wish to
sync. Note: Sync occurs two ways(up and down) automatically for selected
folders (i.e. no method to stop up/down individually for selected folders

To choose what you wish to sync at any given time
- use a combination of the above instructions

Fyi...if you 'Unlink' you will have to sign on to OD and accept the default
storage location or browse and choose an optional/different location.
- Many accept the default location in their Windows user profile, others
choose to store OD sync'ed files in a different location(e.g. a Data Drive
OneDrive folder).
- Also note if one 'Unlink's then different MSFT Account logons can be
used allowing different MSFT account OD's to be stored locally
Caution: To ensure different MSFT Account OD's are not mixed ensure
different store locations are used. Also recommended, if using multiple
MSA's then Unlink any given OD to ensure you have the option to browse and
select the desired sync store location.

Beyond the above:

Thanks Much !!!

But it looks like I am going to have to look for a cloud solution that
allows me to choose when to sync up and sync down.

You are going off-topic from his question.

Anyway, I always uninstall OneDrive after Win 10 installation.
