Default c: drive

My computer is slowing down and I believe the problem is
that my c: drive is full. From My Computer, I can see
that the c: drive has ~15gb used out of ~16gb of space. I
did disk clean up and defrag. Still at ~15gb used. I
went and look at each folder in c: drive and added up the
total amount of space being used by each folder: total was
about 6gb==means that I have about 9gb of space that
shows up as being used from the properties of c: drive,
but is unaccounted for when summing up the contents of c:
drive. What am I missing? Are there 9gb of hidden XP
files on my c: drive? Any ideas?

reduced the space reserved fot system restore to something
reasonable. Right click "my computer"/properties/
system restore. Click on the drive in question.

.
Dave, I tried your suggestion. Decreased amount from

1.9gb to .9gb. Did not recover space. Did checkdisk.
Says 2gb of hidden files. Math is now that I have about
6gb of unaccounted for usage of c: drive. Any other
thoughts?
