Hi,

Try this way:

Primary : Master - W.D harddisk
Secondary: Master - Pioneer DVD
Slave - Plextor CD/RW

Make sure the jumper setting of your DVD rom and CD/RW

are
set correctly. Also check the BIOS setting for the IDE
channels.

Also go the the following website to download the latest
ASPI drivers and utility for XP
http://www.nu2.nu/aspi/

My IDE channels configuratons is:

Primary : Master Western Digital 80Gb HDD "Ultra DMA 5"
Slave Pioneer DVD 117 16x/40x "PIO"
Secondary :Master -
Slave Plextor CDRW W1610A "Multi word DMA 2"

For Primary IDE the cable has 80 lines and 40 pins

I have Ms Windows XP Pro SP1
-------
The problem is that initially DMA was enabled
in Pioneer but without doing anything (after several
months)it turned to PIO.
Even if I tried to selected "DMA if availiable"
Windows doesnt change the acces mode to DMA
--Is there anything wrong with ASPI?
--Is there anything wrong with the CONFIGURATIONB of the
channels
--Is there any possible problem with the software I use
NERO 5.5... ,PowerDVD XP ,CloneCD 4...?
--Can I do smthn from BIOS (I have a cheap Elite
mother board)?
-----------------
Any help is more than acceptable @;-)
