XP and large system files created by Partition Magic
Hello all:
I used Partition Magic today to do a simple task - rename one of my HDD and fix up any references to the old drive letter. All went well, but when I checked my "C" drive, it had very little space left on it. Turns out that in the \windows folder, several large (ie 1 gig +) "system files" had been created, using weird drive-letters (like L, S, and P). They were what gulped up most of my drive space - my C drive is mainly only used for Windows system files and is only 15 gig in size. To explain fuirther, here is how one line looks: Name Size Type Date Modified L 1,559,400 KB System file (today's date...) It has created 5 large system files like this. Anyone know what they are for? And can they be got rid of?? TIA Mickey |
