"Network setup wizard" doesn't know my already set workgroup ?
Hello all,
For some experiementing I want to share a folder, and thought to make my life easier by letting the "network setup wizard" do all the work. Somewhere along there it asks me to give it a "workgroup name", suggesting "MSHOME". The thing is that I have already given it a workgroup name (thu My Computer - properties - Computer Name - Change). In short, it seems to be oblivious that it already has one! What gives ? Second question: The "NetBios properties" - "Sharing" dialog is very suggestive in that using the above wizard is needed to "enable remote access and safely share files". What does it do that "share files without using the wizard" /doesn't do/ in regard to security ? And pardon me, but a "wizard" that needs to be used to "safely share files" but hasn't got a clue about data that has already been provided doesn't come over as very trustworthy on that ... :-( Regards, Rudy Wieser |
