My computer seems to suddenly not show a networking system so that I can
install Comcast, What do you think happened to it?

Hi
Read carefully what was posted by Lem so that you can ask a meaningful
question.
Mean time in general.
To find if you have valid Network in Win XP follow this,
http://www.ezlan.net/debug.html
In case of Vista click on Start/Control Panel/Network and sharing center and
see what the status of the network shows there.
