Adding Port Forwarding to Router
I need to add TCP Ports 8080-8089 to my router for TIVO, do these ports need
to be added individually (i.e 8080, 8081 etc) or can I add them as 8080-8089 in one column, just that my 3COM router only has 20 entries and I have fill a few up already Thanks |

Adding Port Forwarding to Router
This will depend on how your router allows port forwarding to be set up.
Refer to the manual that came with it, or their Web site, for details. "Clayton" wrote in message ... Adding Port Forwarding to Router
Hi
You can add 8080-8089. The only caveat is that you are adding unneeded open ports which in general is considered a security issue. However since it is opened via the TIVO it is not a big risk since there probably nothing that is opened on the TIVO side to use it. Jack (MS, MVP-Networking). "Clayton" wrote in message ... Adding Port Forwarding to Router
If I was to enable 1 to 1 NAT in the router, can I then possibly open all
the ports in the firewall software? or do they still need to be opened in the router? The routers firewall feature has been disabled This is my router http://support.3com.com/infodeli/too...User-Guide.pdf "Jack [MVP-Networking]" wrote in message ... Hi You can add 8080-8089.
