OT : Vista

I'm trying to work on my wife's computer, which has Vista installed.
The only newsgroup I can find on my server dealing with Vista (in
English) is alt.os.windows-vista.

There seems to be very little traffic, compared to this group.

What I am trying to do is to activate the automatic email check (every
XX minutes) within Vista Windows Mail.
I followed the instructions on Microsoft's site, bit I can't figure
out how to get the program to actually activate a notofication (either
a sound, a pop-up frame, or both) when the program finds a newly
arrived email.

Please:

1 . I know there are knowledgeable people in this group, and I won't
mind an answer here.
or
2. Can you tell me if there's a newsgroup where I can get some
answers?
