Why wifi network is always sending?
Under Performance tab at taskbar, I can see a network graphic and
information about wifi network activity that shows permanent sending activity, even when I'm not using the wifi network. I found I can stop it if I go to Firewall properties and block Outbound connections, but then I can't use internet. Do you have the same issue? Thanks |

You can use TCPView to check which program(s) are connecting to the Internet. No installation needed. I found I can stop it if I go to Firewall properties and block Outbound connections, but then I can't use internet. Do you have the same issue? Thanks It's not an issue, it's a necessary part of the protocol that connects your computer and the router. Wi-fi is always two-way. While idling, your computer is pinging the router to find out if there's data to be received (such as new email). If so, the computer and the wi-fi router "handshake", and data is downloaded. While receiving data, the computer tells the router it's ready for the next chunk of data, etc. If more than one machine connects to the router (a home network, for example), it gets more complicated, but the basic principle remains: computer and router must be in 2-way communication with each other for the system to work. So if you turn of the wi-fi traffic, you of course turn off the connection to the router. From the router's point of view, your computer has disappeared. That's why you can't use the Internet. See? Have a good day, So, the system is always pinging the router, including when there isn't any internet program running. In Taskbar's Processes tab there is a column about network activity which shows 0% activity and wifi status box has no activity when I'm not running any internet program. |

Why wifi network is always sending?
I'm Sorry for the error. I wrote "Taskbar" and it's supposed to be "Task
Manager", where we can see the running processes and other information. "shadow" escreveu na mensagem ... Thanks My computer (laptop) does not do this but then I have the wireless turned off on both the laptop and router. Also I am using Windows 7 Pro. -- Bill Brought to you from Anchorage, Alaska |
