Bootable Remote Desktop Client?
I picked up a WYSE C10LE thin client.
VIA 1 GHz.processor. I upgraded the RAM to 2GB Gigabit ethernet. The internal boot flash drive is only 128MB. Don't know if it's locked down or if I can just install something else on it. It appears that you can plug in a laptop IDE drive, but there's nowhere inside to put it. That kinda defeats the purpose. I'm likely to lose interest before I get that far. I can boot Puppy (MACPUP 5.50) and Hirens from USB CD or Flash drive. But it takes a while. Does a credible job of monitoring a network security camera using about 1.5 watts. I thought I'd try using it as a remote desktop client to control win7 and win10 computers remotely. I'd like to boot it from a USB flash drive. A full distribution is rather heavy for this machine. Puppy is the fallback position. I downloaded thinclient demo on CD. It gets past vmlinuz, but locks up at initrd. I really don't want to delve into why. Any others that I should try that might just work? |
