Default Cannot Delete Messages

I think it may have had something to do with my Norton, as I had just
finished installing a bunch of updates, but had not rebooted yet, and then
when I tried deleteing some messages from my "Sent" folder, my computer
froze. I was forced to shut down improperly. I am unable to delete ANY
messages at all from my Inbox, or from my Spam Folder. I cannot drag and
drop them either. I CAN move them from my Inbox and Norton Spam Folder to
another folder though as long as it is not a delete folder. It is like my
delete button just plainly doesn't work, andf I cannot use the delete folder
either.

I would like to try and uninstall my Norton Internet Security, but I am
scared if I do, it will completely leave my computer, and since I renewed my
subscription online from an earlier version, I have no disc or anything, and
don't want to get myself lost without the protection.

I should also have mentioned I am running XP and Outlook Express 6. I have
even tried System Restore twice and it won't even do that.

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail or
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled.

AVG from Grisoft and Avast are free.

I don't understand your statement, I use Norton Anti-Virus and it scans my
email incoming and outgoing (Outlook Express). It also has worm protection
which I have seen it stop some threats.
