Default Tip: slipstreaming USB3 and M.2 (NVMe) drivers into W7 iso

Hi All,

Sometimes I hate Microsoft. What ???? Okay, maybe
more than "sometimes".

It would be child paly for M$ to provide installation ISO with
USB3 and M.2 (NVme) drivers, but NOOOOOOOOOOO .....

Here is an excellent write up on how to slipstream them
into your ISO.

Your mileage may vary - I slip-streamed the "Convenience" update, a ton
more KB's and USB3/NVMe drivers into a Win7 ISO, and the result was:
Win7 setup was asking for a missing driver and never accepted any as a
replacement so it would not go further. The part that breaks is
BOOT.WIM, once Win7 actually installs, the slipstreamed USB3/NVMe
drivers (inside INSTALL.WIM) work fine. Thankfully my BIOS has a USB2
emulator so I used that along with a version of my ISO that did not have
USB3/NVMe in BOOT.WIM. Very disappointed in my failure; might look
further into it later but would love it if someone else knew the fix...

Regards,

To be quite honest, I would not have a living if Windows
suddenly went away. I make about 20 times more per
Windows machine than I do from Linux and Mac per machine.
Windows is a miserable platform. The only reason anyone uses
it any more is that is where all the apps are, especially
business apps.

Do I put a smiley face here or a crying face here. Perhaps
both? :-) :'(

You know, Fedora supports TRIM, USB3, M.2 right out of the
box. None of this slipstream b*** s***. Whole different
culture, but you can't run turbo tax or Quick Books on it.
