My computer which was working good for many years have broken down. It
shows nothing in the screen except "THE SIGNAL CABLE DISCONNECT" when i
turn it on. It doesn't produce any sound. I have replaced the RAM in
another slot, It did not work out too. What shall I do? Please help
me!

How did you post this message if you can't turn on your computer? I think
you should throw away your computer and buy a new one because clearly it
appears to be damaged beyond cost-effectively repaired! Computers are
very cheap these days though Microsoft Software will cost you an arm and a
leg! unless you correct your system date we shall not reply again so you
are on your own!

"Unless you correct your system date we shall not reply again" - who's this
"we" you want to speak so authoritatively on behalf of?

And as for "Your problem is that your computer isn't keeping the correct
time and date and if you can correct this fault, I am sure your computer
will start operating properly", that would be baloney even if he WERE
posting these messages from it, which he clearly isn't.

If your computer does not "turn on", and you have signal cable disconnected
displayed on the screen, you have a hardware fault.
Power Supply motherboard, Video card, CPU, and Hard Drive can all be a pat
of the problem.

Without spare parts, about all you can do is disconnect everything but the
power supply, keyboard, and perhaps the video card.
If the P/C still does not "turn on", you will have to seek hands on help
from someone with spares and knowledge.
Since your P/C is "several years old" it's quite likely that it is outdated
enough to replace rather than pay to have fixed.

For example the date and time on your message is "Date: Thu, 02 Sep 2010
08:01:14 +0530" Now this can only be somewhere outside the global
Satellite
Orbit where time runs faster than on earth!

Could be anything, power supply, motherboard, video card. If it makes no

shop for a diagnosis and repair estimate.

you know i have gone to many repairing centers but the problem is my
village, there are only a very few repairing centers and they are not
experts at computer repairing. I have tried this in a different news
group too but they did not give me a proper reply. i have replaced the
VGA also but It remains the same
