Default windows installer error

i have no idea what this means but when ever i start my computer this error
pops up it say
widows installer /installing widows/
then norton 2005 pops up over it and say norton 2005 does not support this
repair and says uninstall and restall but can't tell if norton wants me to
uninstall the program and reinstall it or not.
I went from norton 2004 to norton 2005 last month and i've notice latley my
screen freezes and doesn't run the same Also i didn't uninstall norton 2004
because norton 2005 said the old verision was found and was removing old
version

Has anyone else had problems with norton 2005? I'm using a gateway xp home
edition

thanks for your help

really getting mad!
