Delay when typing
Hi Torben!
Problem was solved in earlier messages... see following... (and this helped for me) Have you installed DirectX 9? If so, the Windows XP firewall, DirectX 9, Messenger and the firewall have issues working together, which can display the behavior you're seeing. You may need to turn the firewall off totally, or if you want to continue using it, turn off the firewall, load Messenger and then turn the firewall back on. To turn it off (and on), click Start, then click the Control Panel. If you're in category view click Network and Internet connections then click Network Connections. Right click the network or dialup connection, then click Properties. Click the Advanced Tab, and you will see the option to turn off/on the Internet Connection Firewall. To remove DirectX 9, just use System Restore, click Start, then Help & Support, then "Undo changes to my computer using System Restore" and restore back to before DirectX 9 was installed. If System Restore fails, you can also use this uninstaller: http://www.3dcenter.org/downloads/directx- dx9uninstaller.php to uninstall DirectX 9. ____________________________________________ Jonathan Kay Windows MVP, Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com -----Original Message----- Hi All. I have a strang problem med Windows Messenger4.7 (4.7.0150) When im typing a messege, there is a delay on the letters. Moving the main messenger window allso is delayed some times. It's like the program stalls.. but its only for a second or two. Im running XP pro. I have not/are not having this problem with any other program. Its only messenger. I recently did a format and a clean install of WinXP. What could be causing this problem/delay? Event Viewer is not showing anything. -- Best Regards/Venlig Hilsen: Torben stoddah hotmail com . |
