Default Immediate close down on opening Outlook in XP

Is this an XP problem? Am I on the right forum?

Whenever I click Outlook on this new computer I get a
message that says "runtime error" and the programme
closes.

If I click a second time it opens OK, but if I should
choose a different profile it hits the runtime error
result again.

All offers of advice, even if only to go elsewhere with
the problem, would be appreciated.

Outlook and Outlook Express are different programs. Outlook comes with
Office, not WinXP. I suggest that you ask in an Outlook newsgroup:

.
I have posted in Outlook (new users) and got no

response, the point is that I wasn't sure if
this "runtime error" was a Windows error message or an
Outlook error message. You seem to infer Outlook.
