When I right click on my network connections and select properties it hangs,
it also hangs on the bridged connections. My main xp home box can access the internet no problem but it has that dam inet firewall installed and my internet connection sharing no longer works. What happened is I got a virus on the system (nmedia and a backdoor Trojan which have been removed successfully. The Norton removal program reset all my settings back to default and now I cannot change any settings, it just hangs). Has anyone had this problem and any ideas how to fix it ? |

First, delete the bridge. Odds are that's causing you problems and 99% of
home users have no need to bridge multiple networks. Unless you actually have a machine that is connecting multiple internal, otherwise isolated networks together. The only network connection connectiod I'm aware of that will hang when selecting properties is the AOL connectiod. Are you trying to change the properties on a standard DUN connectiod or something created by AOL, MSN or something else with non-standard connection. Also, is this dial-up or broadband? -- Walter Clayton - MS MVP(WinXP) Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone Any technology distinguishable from magic is insufficiently advanced. http://www.dts-l.org http://support.microsoft.com/service...on/default.asp "Rick Huffman" wrote in message ...
