Default Reinstall files for windows update

Hi,
I am trying to run "windows update" and after starting it, and while it
seeks
for loaded files already installed, I see this message :
"necessary files needed to windows update are not present in the registry or
not installed on the computer"

rewrite or reinstall files (recommanded)?

I have tried without success.

What can I do ?
Pease help.
