Windows stays at the loading screen
My problem occurs during the Windows XP (Home Edition)
loading screen just before the screen comes up that allows me to pick the user I am and log on to windows normally. What happens is that it stays at the "Windows is starting" or "Windows is loading" or whatever screen and doesn't go to the screen that shows all the users. I have to wait until my screensaver kicks in and then I can move my mouse across the screen and it fixes itself. However before it goes to the user screen like it used to before, it takes me to a screen that has a line which says administrator and a password line and an error message comes up that says something about me not having access to something or other. After I press ok, everything is alright. I can't recreate it because I'd have to restart my computer again and cause the whole problem to start anew. |

Windows stays at the loading screen
I am having the exact same problem. It just started yesterday, 10/23/04. It seemed to happen after I ran my usual spybot, adaware, spyware blaster, norton live update routine. After I boot up, I get a screen that flashes so fast I can't read it, then it stays at "windows is starting up" forever, until the screensaver starts, then if I click with the mouse the user screen appears and I can log in just like always. Very curious. " wrote: My problem occurs during the Windows XP (Home Edition) loading screen just before the screen comes up that allows me to pick the user I am and log on to windows normally. Windows stays at the loading screen
I'm having this same problem. When I boot up the computer tries to load one
of my users and then it hold and the loading screen as described shows up on the screen and stays there. My screensaver does not come on and I have to go through the boot process several time. Each time it hangs up on the blank page showing that windows xp is starting. Finally when I hit the f8 key continuously the startup screen doesn't hold and a screen comes up with the login screen for one of my users is there and I have to click on it to continue the boot process. Very frustrating. Can anyone help us with this problem? "lhstrunk" wrote in message ... I am having the exact same problem. It just started yesterday, 10/23/04.
