Hopefully no one other than you will reply though and further ruin the
thread

To all you other clowns who hijacked my thread for your own stupid and
immature newsgroup "police" reasons, you're on my OE filter
list..another great thing about OE

Thank you for being so gracious to those you *asked* for suggestions.

You're welcome. Posting only to an OE newsgroup would have saved you some
hassle. Creating a new identity is not a workaround. The default Main
identity has a few extra and unneeded registry keys and therefore becomes
more likely to become corrupt. Whenever I set up a new install, I create a
new identity right from the get-go and delete the Main ID. Never use it at
all.

To remove it, while in the new identity: File | Identities | Manage
Identities | Highlight the Main Identity and Remove.

Hey Bruce...thanks alot for being the only one not wasting my time. I've
copied and pasted your response below in case any one else has a similar
problem and needs real help.

Creating a new identity--although it worked--was just a work around
though. The original problem is indeed gone, but the Main identity is
still there. I think you said I can delete it...but most novices aren't
going to know how to do that. I went into the relevant MS Identities
folder and deleted it, but you ought to reply telling others exactly how
to do it so they will have a 100% solution to the problem. Hopefully no
one other than you will reply though and further ruin the thread

----------------------

You may have a damaged identity especially if it is the default Main
Identity. File | Identity | Add New Identity. Create a new one and test
it.
If all is well, you can import your messages and Address Book from the old
identity and delete it.

Note: Do not use the word Main in the name of the new identity.

Clowns? Highjacked?

If that's the way you feel, it's fine with me. We won't have to read
each other's messages at all anymore. You're killfiled here as well.
