BSOD video_memory_management_internal...
Acer Aspire 7600U, just put a new SSD on it (did a data recovery on the
old HDD). Installed W10 (it had been upgraded from W7 Home to 10 previously. Windows Update *automatically* installs Intel and Nvidia display drivers updates, and then BSOD's! https://duckduckgo.com/?q=windows+10 +video_memory_management_internal&t=lm&ia=web How can I stop WU from installing the display drivers? -- Duncan. |

This sounds like Optimus. The hardware setup from hell. https://forums.geforce.com/default/t...and-optimus/9/ ******* The suggestion here, is to keep uninstalling the NVidia driver, until the setup starts using the Microsoft "Basic Display Adapter" (a.k.a. VESA fallback driver). Then install a new NVidia driver obtained from their site (geforce.com). "Are you having the Video_Memory_Management_Internal Windows 10 error?" https://steamcommunity.com/app/21449...7653309696468/ The driver package has multiple CABs in it, with things like ShadowPlay as a separate package. For some people, at least one of the packages in there will fail, which looks to the OS like the driver failed to install. What you really need, is the driver part, while things like ShadowPlay (video recorder for gaming) is an optional extra. And if things are crashing or mis-behaving, you just want the basic stuff to work. The "Programs and Features" control panel, will have a fair number of NVidia entries, only some of which are drivers you need. Paul |
