Decoding MinDumps? How-To?

I have a Windows 7 x64 system that keeps rebooting and I suspect it's the
firewire driver.

Could someone point me to an idiot's guide to installing the software needed
to decode a minidump?
The ones I am finding talk about installing Microsoft development CD and so
forth. I'll be here a month installing all that stuff !

I just need the basics.

It's pretty simple to use, and gives plenty of information.

Looks like the firewire driver is not well.
