Default Control Panel on taskbar?

I'm trying to pin Control Panel to the taskbar and can't find a way to
do it. I was able to create a desktop shortcut, but that's all I could
do. Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Jo-Anne

Right-click the Start orb, Properies, Customise (button), Control
Panel (Display as a link radio button).

That puts it on the Start Menu, not the Task Bar.

If you open Control Panel as a free-floating Explorer window, you can
then right-click on the button in the task bar and choose "Pin this
program to Task Bar."

Thank you, Nil! That worked perfectly. So simple, but I couldn't see it
for myself, and it wasn't in the book about Win7 that I bought.

Jo-Anne as you learn more about your new system, I went through this
back in Jan and am still learning new things all the time, another
little tidbit I discovered - If you don't like the size options for the
desktop icons, you can adjust them to your liking by holding down the
"Crtl" key and at the same time use your scroll button to
increase/decrease to your liking (make sure you clear any highlighted
icon before starting)

Very slick! Thank you, Zo! Any more suggestions? I've used XP for years
and don't remember having as much trouble locating information as I'm
having in Win7.

It's worth mentioning that the above is a standard method for any
program.

Of course, Control Panel is very easy to get to without being pinned to
the taskbar, unless there's a configuration setting to make it difficult
(if so, I'm not aware of it).
