Default Icon text color

It looks like the color of the icon text is fixed at black or white and
there is no XP setting to select another font color for icon text. My
situation was that I could not see the icon text with a light, almost white,
colored image as my desktop. Your suggestion to make the background of this
text transparent works and now I can see the icon text. Thanks

I would like to change the color of the text under the icons on my
desktop. The default is white anyone know how to set it to another
color???

The actual font will be black or white. If you mean the colored background
of the text, you can effectively turn this transparent by performing the
following.

Right click My Computer and select Properties/Advanced tab/In the
Performance section click the Settings button. Scroll to the bottom of the
option list and select the "Use drop shadows.........." option. Apply/OK.
