Default Setting exceptions to default folders view.

If Explorer's view options are set to 'Remember each folder's view settings', then the folders
should open with the 'Apply to all' default the first time they are opened -- but after that they
should remember any changes.

Also try the following from Kelly's Korner:

Line 54, right-hand column "Save Settings on Exit"

When I do a clean install of Windows XP, I set up folders view to my
preferences and go to Tools Folder Options Apply to all folders.
This saves me from having to format the view of each folder on 12
virtual drives.

The problem is that I like my desktop folders that hold the shortcut
icons to always open in icon view which is not the default. I can set
these individually however they revert back to the format selected in
Apply to all folders the next time they are opened. I understand this,
it is doing what I told it to do. Clearly I need to change my
approach. How can I quickly set the thousands of folders I want the
same and have the other few consistently hold an alternate view?

Appropriate replies are appreciated. Thanks.
